Nazareth is located in Israel’s Galilee region and has high biblical significance. The bible states that it became the hometown of Jesus, Mary and her husband Joseph after they escaped Herod the Great’s soldiers from Egypt. Nazareth is, currently, the largest Arab-populated city in the Israel. It houses numerous churches and monasteries, including the Synagogue Church, where, according to Christian tradition, Jesus studied and prayed.
Cana in Galilee is the place where Jesus performed his first two public miracles, one, was turning water into wine at the wedding and two, was the remote healing of an official’s son in Capernaum. Although exact location of the first miracle is unclear, its commemoration is traditionally fixed at Kefer-Kenna, around 5 km north-east of Nazareth. These make Cana key location in Holy Land and Israel Tour Package.
A trip to Israel is incomplete without a visit to Jerusalem because firstly, it is celebrated as the holy city and secondly, it is capital of the country. The Old City in Jerusalem is a place of huge importance for three religions – Judaism, Christianity and Islam. For Christians, it is a place where Jesus died, was buried and rose. However, the city also has a modern side that is full of restaurants, cafes and cultural life.
A heart-shaped, fresh-water lake situated in the hills of northern Israel is the picturesque Sea of Galilee. Jesus performed some of his best known miracles here, including Church of Multiplication, where he fed five thousand people fish and bread. The lake gets its water supply mainly from the Jordan River and today provides Israeli fishermen in the town of Tiberias with freshwater fish, enough to be sold commercially as well.
